New Keys at Tenantry Down

So what do people think about the changes in terms of keys? How well was it managed? How big was the security problem (I had nothing happen and I'm right by a gate and the fence)? Has this solved it?

Well, the manner of supply of the new keys wasn't terribly clever, giving the reps little warning of their duty to hand them out, but the locks do seem to be good quality. It will only make a difference if a minority stop leaving the padlock open for their own convenience.
Most vandals are in reality cutting the fence rather than using the gates so only thick hedges will help there!

They forgot to send me keys and after much hassle in emails I eventually got on my plot after two months!!!

Also I have noticed new levels of jobsworthness, for exampe, we were trying to repair a shed, so we took it apart to put new roof on it, within a few days we had a letter about moaning about the shed bits!!

Hi there Brighton allotment people. I am having my windows redone and have a whole set of old sash window frames with glass. Does anyone want to have them to use as cold frames? I'd rather see them used like that than go in the dump...

hello
it seems the new keys are only a hasle for us. The vandals don't seem to care what we use.
However it seems that a greater act of vandalism is about to be perpetrated in the name of combating this anti social behaviour. Our rep said that the 'allotment man' had been round and said they were going to cut trees down so that the vandals wouldn't have cover! Erm this just stupid.

We love our environment and so does the wildlife. Please leave it alone!
